Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Redict Media Player ("we", "us", "our") provides a TV-first application for streaming live TV, movies and series from IPTV providers that you choose to connect. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have.

The data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and similar laws is Redict Media Player. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@redictmediaplayer.com.

1. Data we collect

We process the following categories of data:

  • Account data. Your e-mail address and authentication metadata (such as account identifiers and login session information).
  • Linked IPTV provider credentials. The provider server or host URL, username and password you supply when you link your own IPTV provider so the app can connect on your behalf.
  • Device data. A device hardware identifier or a hash derived from it, used to recognise your devices and to enforce device limits.
  • Usage data. Your watch history and playback progress, your favourites, and the app, category and display settings and preferences you configure.
  • Provider and catalogue metadata. Metadata about the channels, movies and series made available through your linked IPTV provider, as needed to display and synchronise your content.
  • Subscription and billing data. Information about your subscription and payments, which is processed on our behalf by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.

2. How we use your data and our legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the legal bases noted below. Where a different law applies, we rely on the equivalent lawful basis available under that law.

  • Account and authentication — to create your account, let you sign in, and secure it. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • IPTV playlist sync and caching — to connect to your linked provider and to fetch, cache and update your content. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Cross-device watch-progress sync — to keep your playback progress, favourites and settings consistent across your devices. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Service operation — to operate, maintain and improve the app and its features. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interests in running and improving the service.
  • Security and fraud prevention — to protect accounts, enforce device limits and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, and compliance with legal obligations.
  • Support — to respond to your questions and requests. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interests in providing support.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following categories of recipients and service providers (processors), and only as needed to run the service:

  • Self-hosted Supabase. Our data hosting and authentication infrastructure, used to store and process your account, sync and settings data.
  • Your own IPTV providers. When you link a provider, we use the credentials you supply to connect to that provider on your behalf. Your relationship with that provider is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
  • TMDB. A metadata and image service used to enrich the catalogue information we display.
  • Stripe. Our payment provider, which processes subscription payments and related billing data.
  • An e-mail delivery provider. Used to send transactional e-mails such as account and security messages.

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.

4. Retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. Watch history and synchronisation logs are pruned in line with our retention policy and are not kept longer than necessary for the purposes described above. When you delete your account, or when you otherwise request it, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain it to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve disputes.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to request restriction of processing.
  • Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, e-mail us at privacy@redictmediaplayer.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Account and data deletion

You can delete your account and its associated personal data at any time from the account settings on this website by using the delete-account option. You can also request deletion by e-mailing privacy@redictmediaplayer.com. Once your request is processed, your account data is deleted and you will no longer be able to sign in.

7. Children

The service is not directed at children, and you must be old enough to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We and our service providers may process and store your data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by e-mail. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
